Cheer competitions are so
much fun, but at the same time
nerve racking. This year was my
first year as a competition cheer-
leader. Every day when I would
have a competition, I would
wake up super early to go get
donuts. I guess you could say I
was the donut girl on the .team.
Anyways, after everyone got on
the bus, we would head off to go
to the competition. Once we got
there, we all got off and went to
a room where we would stretch
before we go to warmups. In
warmups, you first have two
mats where you do jumps. Then,
you move to three mats where
you do standing and running
tumbling. Next, you go to four
or five mats where you warm
up all of your stunts before you
go to the last mat in warmups
which is where you do a full out

or stunt through. After
you get done with
warmups, it's time for
you to go perform.
When you are walk-
ing out on the mats
in front of a gym full
of people, it can get
really nerve rack-
ing, but that is why
I'm glad to cheer for
Mary Persons, because
you know you always
have a friend who is
going to be there for
you when you do get
nervous. Yes! We hit.
Once you get done
cheering, you go to get
water, and trust me
you need it.
After all the teams have gone,
everyone gets called down to
wait for awards. Sitting in that
circle you know whether you

The Mary Persons
C-Team competition
cheer team's season has
just ended. We had our
last competition on
Oct. 27. We had a great
routine, and got first
place!
After this competi-
tion, we had a back-to-
back first place. This
year we got second
place twice and first
place twice. It has been
a very; very good sea-
son, and I'm so excited
I have been a part of
this great team.
