Page 6A lN LOVlNG .. my} Curl'iS‘Marl'in Smith Jr. March 22, lQ35 November l4, ZOlQ Curtis Martin Smith'Jr., 84, of Baxley died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 in Jesup. Mr. Smith was born March 22, 1935 in Forsyth to the late Curtis Martin Smith, Sr. and the late Catheryn Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Smith was a faithful member of Big Oaks Church of God and was a Commercial Carrier SMITH serving Proco Industries and Wil- liams Brothers Trucking for over 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Dinah Shore Patterson Smith of Baxley; daughters, Donna Marie Crosby, Debra Sue Griffis both of Baxley, Pam Sanders, Janet Phillips, 8t Cathy Dunn all of Forsyth; sons, James Keilah Williams & Gary Dewayne Williams both of Baxley; sister, Becky Smith of Forsyth; brother, Harold (Glenda) Smith of Forsyth. Ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Grimes and Rev. Virginia Herrington officiating. Interment followed in Appling Memorial Card“. with Military Honors. Active pallbearers were Brandon Williams, Brandon Rewis, Daniel Williams, Chris Faulk, Jamie Patterson & Dominick Oehkle. Honorary pallbearers were Big Oaks Church of God Adult Sunday School Class, Williams Brothers Truck- ing, Georgia Hospice and all friends in attendance. Musical selections were rendered by Debbie Taylor, Candace Williams, Debbie Griflis, Kevin Rewis and Brandon Rewis. Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home. Steven Kelly Johnson, 56, of 267 Reedy Creek Road, is accused of asking a 14 year old to show him her breasts. He is charged with felony criminal attempt and charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes. An arrest warrant said Johnson and the girl were in a vehicle going from his home to Walmart and back when he pulled over on a side street and made the proposal sometime between 12 am. on Sept. 1 and 11 pm. on Sept. 7.
