Well we finally got some fall weather, but it took a hurricane to do it and it lasted about two days. Now it's back to
85 degrees. But the weather guy said it's going to get cool again later this week, about the time you get this Reporter
here. Sounds good to me. Towaliga Tina and I were so excited about Hurricane Mike that we waited up all night
on Wednesday to see what would happen. We ain't never seen a real-life hurrican' before. We sat on folding chairs
in the garage all night. Finafly, about 4 a.m we got some nice wind sideways rain. But that was about it. We
should've slept. We did spend Thursday picking up sticks and leaves in the yard and were so tired we decided to go
out to eat. Which reminds There are fewer options than their used to be in Forsyth. David and Bonnie Barker, own-

wuz good. My new favorite Italian place, Minori's on the square, has already dosed, but I'm told they plan to re-open under
new management soon. That's good news because Forsyth needs a good Eye-talian place. Well, the little

To Will Davis and my constituents of Monroe County Georgia,
Recently I was invited to attend the debate being hosted on Octo-
ber 15, 2018 in regards to those seeking othe Office of the Sheriff
for Monroe Count, Georgia. Ill like to respectfully decline this
invitation.
As most know I retired from the Monroe County Sheriff's Of-
fice in January of 2018. Within a month then Sheriff J.C. Bittick
announced he would be retiring as our Sheriff to accept the posi-
tion of United States Marshal for the Middle District of Georgia.
I decided upon his announcement that Ill seek the Office of
Sheriff to continue to faittffully serve Monroe County as I have
done so for the past 42 years (34 years - MCSO / 8 years - FPD).
From the beginning of my campaign I chose to go door to door,
street to street, and neighborhood to neighborhood asking each of you for your voice and confi-
dence as I seek the Office of Sheriff. I've not waived from this idea as I want you to know that I'm
a boots on the ground" kind of guy who's not expecting a sign to vote, a debate to win a vote or a
false promise to handle business. I want all of you to know that as your SheriffI'll still be here in the
county and speaking to you as ffwe've known each other all our lives, regardless if we have or If you
met me for 30 minutes after I knocked on your door.
On day one I laid out my campaign ideas such as:
Increasing School Safety by working with our Board of Education to increase School Resource Offi-
cers, technology to restrict access to keep our children and teachers/staff safe. After all, they are our
future, we must protect each of them and give them the safest environment in which to perform.
Increase the presence of Uniform Deputies across Monroe County. We have to look at our recruit-
'hag efforts and make sure we obtain the best of the best when it comes to hiring more law enforce-
ment officers. We currently have a tremendous team of deputies and will find ways to increase their
numbers by working with Monroe County Commissioners to increase compensation, promotional
opportunities, and offering more technology and educatonal opportunities as well.
Expansion of our 911 Center and hiring and/or retaining a Director to effectively train, retain
operators and operate this facility to serve Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Monroe County Emer-
gency Services, Forsyth Fire and Police Departments as individual agencies.
Activate a phone line where you the citizen can call a tip directly into drug investigators, where it'll
be investigated immediately and without fear of the information not staying confidential.
Re-establish a successful Neighborhood Watch program where neighbors meet and greet neighbors
and work dosdy with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Remember that you know what and
who belongs in your neighborhoods we don't. Help us, help you.
"l'hese arejusta few of my ideas and I would love the opportunity to expand more on them. If you i
have any questions fed free to contact me at (478) 256-6406.
Ill love to be your Sheriffand to serve each ofyou and there's no debate about that '
