Monroe County’s Duke Watson then punched it in from three yards out, and a two-point pass from Causey to Gordon tied the game at 16-16, setting the stage for Monroe County’s late— game drarnatics. Meanwhile, the 7th Grade Bulldogs made it a doublehead— er sweep for Monroe County on Wednesday, outlasting Gray Station . Owens, the Mary Persons JV football team was shut out 6-0 by Jackson at .’ home on Thursday to finish its 2019 campaign with a 3-2 record. Jackson scored the game's lone touchdown on a 10-yard run with 6:20 left in the fourth quarter. The MP JV opened the season with a 26-6 road win over Crawford County on Sept. 5. MP then fell 34- T3 at Peach County on Sept. before rebounding for a narrow 20-18 road win over Southwest on Sept. 26. After beating Spalding 13-6 on Oct. 3 to improve to 3-l, MP finished with the loss to the Red Devils. Some JV 2019 standouts included: linebacker Holton Bell, wide receiver Maury Lowe, quar- terback Michael Harrison, running back Owens, defensive tackle Anthony Cle- ments. running Jay Barron and kicker Tripp Shipman.
