Monroe County Commis-
sioners on Tuesday, Aug. 6
allowed a wedding venue
to be built on Twin Creeks
Drive.
Coolidge and Sara Gassett
of 180 Twin Creeks Drive
asked commissioners for a
conditional use variance in
agriculture to build a 50-foot
by 80-foot barn behind their
home to hold weddings and
other parties.
No one opposed the
Gassetts' request, and the
Monroe County Planning &
Zoning board unanimously
approved the measure at
a July 29 meeting. Com-
missioners, who also
unanimously approved the
project, had the final say on
Aug. 6.

Steve Coleman to create a
topographical map of the
site on L. Cary Bittick Drive
just north of the Monroe
County Justice Center to
house a new District At-

The cost of the topograph-
ical map, which will take
about a month to complete,
is not to exceed $4,000.
County manager Jim ,
Hedges said a previously
proposed building site
located slightly farther north
of the new site was deemed
unsuitable after soil testing
was conducted.
