The facility is located at 10986 Highway 87, Juliette, Georgia. The primary purpose of this permit is to identify and consolidate existing State and Federal air requirements applicable to Scherer Steam- Electric Generating Plant and to provide practical methods for determining compliance with these requirements. The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) is preparing Title V Operating Permits in accordance with Title V of the Clean Air Act. This permit will be enforceable by the Georgia EPD, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and other persons as Otherwise authorized bylaw. V Scherer Steam-Electric Generating Plant consists of four coal fired boilers generating steam that drives turbines to generate electricity for sale The draft permit and all information used to develop the draft permit are available for review. This includes the application and all other relevant materials available to the permitting authority. This information is available for review at the office of the Air Protection Branch, 4244 International Parkway, Atlanta Tradeport Suite 120, Atlanta, Georgia 30354. Copies of the draft permit, narrative, and permit application will be available through our internet site http://epd.georgia.gov/air/ draft-titIe-v-permit. (Please note that the Internet is generally accessible from most public libraries in Georgia.) If copies are desired, a copying machine for public use is provided by EPD at the Atlanta Air Protection Branch office. There will be a copying charge of $0.10 per page. During the Division’s decision-making procedures to issue the Title V permit, any information received during a public hearing will be considered together with information received during the comment period.
