100 teens take Safe Driving Camp
One hundred Monroe County teens and 30 volunteers participated in the
Monroe County sheriffs
offices annual Safe Driving Camp on Saturday at the Georgia Public Safety
Training Center.
Organizer Sgt. Richard Coughenour said all teens drove on and off road and
on the skid pad, and
Byron police brought a seat belt sled to demonstrate a 20-foot drop. There
was also a rollover
demonstration and Norfolk Southern showed teens the rules for railroad
crossings. Mid Georgia
Auto showed teens how to check their oil and antifreeze and other car
maintenance tips. At right,
