Like many others in Monroe
County, members of Forsyth's
Planning & Zoning Commission
want to know when Zaxby's will
be open for business. When owner
Steven Stembridge replied they ex-
pect to begin work on the building
in mid-August, one member said,
"No, no, I mean when will you be
serving chicken?"

Monroe County commissioner John
Ambrose has filed an ethics complaint
against commissioner Larry Evans for
slander after Evans accused Ambrose
of soliciting a county employee in a
public spat on Thursday, July 18.
Near the conclusion of Thursday's
regular commission meeting, Ambrose
suggested rotating which non-profits
receive county funding, saying the
county allocates funds to the same
non-profits each year.
But District 1 commissioner Larry
Evans objected, saying he thinks
Ambrose was alluding to the Hub-
bard Mumni Association and adding
the non-profits which receive county
contributions serve a purpose.
Ambrose said he was upset by a
previous comment Evans made in
which the District 1 commissioner said
Ambrose doesn't care about county
citizens.
