Grossman, who doubles as MP's softball coach, said she's excited to see her softball players, including Cantrell, briefly put aside the diamond for the court. Grossman said, "They're playing something else. To me, when you play multiple sports, you learn something from each one and bring it to the other sports" The MP boys tennis squad is also expected to have another strong season after finishing as the Region 2-AAAA runner- up and making the Sweet 16 in each of the past two years. The 2019 Bulldogs will be led by the junior Wilson triplets, Caleb, Micah and Preston, all of whom are in their third year on the varsity squad. Caleb and Micah Wilson have made up an outstanding doubles team in each of the past two seasons, but Grossman said she plans to split them up in 2019. Micah Wilson will move to No. 1 singles, filling the big shoes of the graduated Chris Swars. Preston Wilson will move up from No. 3 singles to No. 2 singles with last year's No. 2 singles player, Tanner Lee, moving to the soccer field in 2019. Caleb Wilson is then expected to slot into the No. 3 singles position. Grossman said the Wil- son triplets have continued to improve each year and bring enthusiasm to the 2019 MP Varsity Tennis Schedule DATE OPPONENT LOCATION TIME Feb. 20 Northside Away (Warner Robins) 4:00 Feb. 21 Baldwin Home 4:00 Feb. 25 Mount de Sales Home 4:00 Feb. 26 Lamar County Away 4:00 Feb. 28 Jackson Away 4:00 Mar. 5 Spalding* Home 4:00 Mar. 7 ACE Home 4:00 Mar. 12 Upson-Lee* Away 4:00 Mar. 14 Jones County Away 4:00 Mar. 19 West Laurens* Away 4:00 Mar. 21 Howard* Home 4:00 Mar. 26 Perry* Home 4:00 Mar. 28 Pike County Away 4:00 Apr. 8 Girls Haydn TBD TBD Apr. 9 Boys Haydn TBD TBD Apr. 11 Region Semis & Finals Away (John Drew) TBA Apr. 18 1st Round State TBA TBA Apr. 23 2nd Round State TBA TBA Apr. 27 Quarterfinals TBA TBA Apr. 30 Semifinals TBA TBA May 4 Finals Berry College TBA * Region 2-AAAA Matches Boys and Girls matches occur simultaneously ~l.m. ).m. ).m. ).m. ).m. ).m. ).m. ).m. ).m. ).m. ~).m. ).m. ).m. court.
