Sealed Bids for furnishing
all materials, labor, tools,
equipment and appurtenances
necessary for the construction
of a Water Main Extension along
Tharpe Road will be received
by the Monroe County Board
of Commissioners in the Board
Room on the 3rd Floor of the
Monroe County Administration
Building at 38 West Main
Street, Forsyth, Georgia 31029
until 2:00 P.M. local time, on
Thursday, March 8 2018, and
then at said office publicly
opened and read aloud.
The Project consists of the
installation of Water System as
outlined below:
Install approximately 9,650
linear feet of 6" water main
along with associated hydrants,
valves, fittings, joint restraint,
jack & bore casings, clearing,
erosion control and connections
to existing water lines along
Tharpe Road.
The Contract Time is 120
calendar days for the project.
Liquidated damages in the
amount of $100.00 shall be
assessed for each day the work
extends beyond the Contract
Time.
The work in the Contract will be
awarded on the basis of the total
sum bid for the construction of
all utilities and associated work
as noted in the Measurement
and Payment section of the
Contract.
Any Contractor performing
the proposed work must be a
licensed utility contractor by
the State of Georgia. License
numbers are requested to be
written on the face of the bid
envelope, but not required.

Specifications and forms of
Bid Bond, Performance Bond,
and Payment Bond and other
Contract Documents may be
examined at the office of Carter

the office of the Engineer, Carter
& Sloope, Inc. 6310 Peake
Road, Macon, Georgia 31210,
upon payment of $100.00, non-
refundable, for each set. Street
address must be provided
to ensure prompt delivery.
No partial sets of bidding
documents or electronic files will
be issued by the Engineer prior
t6 the Bid Opening.
Each Bid must be accompanied
by a Bid Bond, prepared on
the form of Bid Bond attached
to the Contract Documents,
duly executed by the Bidder as
principal and having as surety
thereon a surety company
licensed to do business in the
State of Georgia and listed in
the latest issue of U.S. Treasury
Circular 570, in the amount of
10% of the Bid.
The successful Bidder for
this Contract will be required
to furnish a satisfactory
Performance Bond and Payment
Bond each in the amount of 100
percent of the Bid.
All necessary permits for
this project are expected
to be acquired prior to the
commencement of any
construction activities. A Notice
of Intent as noted in the NPDES
General Permit will be required
with the Contractor listed as the
Primary Permittee.
All anticipated easements and
rights-of-way are expected
to be acquired prior to
commencement of construction
activities;
The Owner reserves the right
to reject any or all Bids, to
waive informalities, and to re-
advertise.
