On Frid&y morning
at 7:30 a.m. General
Beauregard Lee made
his first prediction about
the end of winter from
his new home at Dauset
Trails, just a couple of
miles north of the Monroe
County line.
It wasn't the forecast of
"an early spnng around
the corneF' for which
most of his fans had
hoped, but when you're
a respected prophet, you
have to tell it like you
see it.
Lee Stepped out of his
new door and couldn't
avoid the bright sunny
morning and the shad-
ows it cast. Reportedly
he waved to the media
and the faithful follow-
ers who had gathered in
just-above-freezing tem-
peratures, savored his
hot Waffle House hash
browns and headed back
inside his freshly painted
new home to wait out the
rest of winter.
Although disappointed
with the forecast, those
who came out to hear that many of the onlook- his new home at Dauset
